VIETNAM CONSUMER ELECTRONICS EXPO 2010

Hanoi, 16 July 2010; Vietnam Consumer Electronics Expo 2010 (VCE’10) co-organized  by International Data Group (IDG Vietnam), Hanoi ICT Association (HANICT) and CEO & CIO Club will take place during 21st – 24th October 2010 at the International Exhibition Centre (IEC), Hanoi.

Along with economic recovery, ICT industry is thriving. Despite economic downturn in 2009, ICT growth achieved 18.14% with total avenue of $6.17 billion. Computer hardware and electronics industry still keeps accounting for great property. During the past10 years, software’s avenue has increased by more or less 19 times compared with average rise of nearly 35% per year. In 2009, telecommunication also hit extraordinary growth. Namely, average avenue growth reached over 33% with total avenue of $6.87 billion (according to Vietnam ICT White Paper). In the robust development way, Vietnam is on the way to assert its position in Asian area and enhance its position on the world map of ICT.

The year 2010 is seen as the critical moment in deploying e-Government in Vietnam and implementing the Government’s commitment to turn Vietnam into a strong IT country.

Following the success of 15th Vietnam Computer Electronics World Expo (VCW) which has taken place in the HCM city, VCE 2010 held in Hanoi is expected to be a destination where state-of-the-art technologies converge, target at prospective consumers in the Northern area. With integration trend among IT, Telecommunication and Consumer Electronics, VCE 2010 exhibition will contribute to promote Vietnam’s IT potential in many fields especially in building e-government, designing software and focusing on service.

With an area of 5000m², VCE is estimated to attract more than 150.000 visitors during the 4-Day Exposition. The event is targeted at 2 major groups: (i) Consumers from Government agencies, organizations and enterprises and (ii) Individual consumers. The main focus of VCE this year is the consumer community especially the youth who takes a keen interest in advanced IT products and solutions.

The exhibition is also expected to attract more than 200 participants, focusing on 6 areas: Telecommunications and Digital Network; Computer Hardware & Software; Electronic Equipments or Components; Entertainment and Gaming; Electronics and Computer; Software Application.

Getting to VCE 2010, the viewers will have outlook on IT life at present, approach cutting-edge IT products with world-wide famous brand and choose their favorite ones, seek their strategy partners. On the other hand, VCE 2010 also helps connecting Vietnamese and foreign IT manufacturers and distributors, expanding business networks as well as providing opportunities for cooperation. This is also an efficient way for IT vendors to make direct contact with customers.

CEO & CIO Club

CEO & CIO Club is the first non-profit organization for IT Chief Executive Officers and Chief Information Officers enhance the role of CEO and consolidate the title of CIO in Vietnam. In 2007, the Club officially kicked off its activities.

The CEO & CIO Club was initiated by representatives of IT community and business including Dr. Mai Anh, Mr. Dang Duc Mai, Mr. Vo Hong Nam, Mr. Le Thanh Tam and Dr. Nguyen Viet The. The Club intends to speed up integration and further develop human resources for the CEO & CIO community in Vietnam.

The Club's guideline is “Towards a connected, integrated and developed CEO & CIO community” based on voluntary principle of all members. This Club will provide a platform for members to communicate, exchange information, update latest technology solutions, define IT strategies and share common interests. In addition, the Club is a strategic partner of IDG and local and international ICT vendors to organize CEO& CIO events, including annual CIO Conference & Awards.
